The Incredibles is the most thematically complex film Pixar has made to date, this sequel is more of a surface level action-comedy. Regardless, Incredibles 2 is still a compelling blend of a superhero movie and a family comedy.
In this film, Brad Bird proves himself to be a master of this craft. The plot is perfectly placed to strategically keep the nail-biting suspense, action sequences and gut-wrenching comedic scenes to fully engage you through the near 2-hour run time.
It maintains the shortest of attention spans without resorting to pop culture references or meme jokes.
