Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Stevenschatz — 14 Jun 2018
Incredibles 2 is far from perfect, but is definitely good enough to leave people satisfied at the end of the movie. Although not as much as its predecessor, the film has a lot of great action sequences. Unfortunately, the action is not very evenly spread out and the film feels a bit dragged at times. Because of this, the film does not feel properly paced. Also, the plot of the beginning of the film with The Underminer feels too rushed and underdeveloped. However, there are lots of fun surprises and the plot is overall very good. The Screenslaver is a very compelling villain and adds a lot of suspense and mystery to the film's plot. What I've always loved most about The Incredibles is the Parr's family dynamic. Fortunately, Jack Jack's new powers and Mr. Incredible's trouble controlling them bring back and improve that essential aspect of the first film. Overall, while not quite as good as the original, Incredibles 2 brings back a lot of what made the first film great and is ultimately worth the 14 year wait.
Verdict:
Sound/Visuals - 5/5.
Plot/Characters - 4/5.
Plot Structure - 4/5.
Dialogue - 5/5.
Overall - 4.
