Quick Review: After being able to finally get a look at the first Incredibles by Brad Bird, and enjoying the film heavily for being entertaining and very absorbing for its bleak but yet interesting and fun world building and characters, I was excited to see how the sequel would fair up and hopefully continuing the first films story and themes (along with improving the set pieces and animation of the first). And after finally being able to see it I...have to unfortunately say I was disappointed it ended up feeling a lot more of the same and...nothing else; well no not completely but i'll explain. Incredibles 2 isn't a bad follow up per say but disappoints in trying to fully create a follow up to the first film with expanding the characters and its story and instead opts unfortunately just play at times to its credit interesting but ultimately rather stake-less and less than developed story. Where it does however work with a lot of genuinely interesting story ideas and outline plot in the first half of the film, the voice actors helping still as always brining a lot of life to their characters, the animation really helping show more of the scope and feel of the Incredibles world than the first, a very happy to report and hear energetic and fantastic soundtrack very well incorporated into the film that shows Michael Giacchino still has the energy in him and isn't failing to impress me as a composer, the action set pieces are still as fun and clever from the first, and there's still a lot of charm in the writing I unfortunately must say that probably the BIG issues that DRAG this film from being better is opting for a last half being painfully lazy and generic (very almost shockingly deciding to be lazy developing its characters properly and even playing it very weirdly too safe) and made what could've been some neat ideas and story in the first half go somewhere and make it almost pointless story wise by that point why this film was even made if it lead to absolutely nothing, a shocking amount of heart and good character writing missing, the more tame humour (especially from Jack-Jack) just feeling so weirdly off paced and just plain unfunny, the so called "villains" of the sequel being just so SHOCKINGLY underdeveloped and just borderline awful, and had a tone and story that felt it didn't do much to continue the Parr family in any interesting way.

So overall i'm, very sad and disappointed to say that The Incredibles 2 opts more for a more lenient and more family oriented adventure that while there isn't anything wrong with doing doesn't take this chance to REALLY flesh out its world better by for one continuing from the first film than setting it later down the years and ESPECIALLY opts to develop otherwise super likable characters as more props for the story and in a very surface level way connect with. I'm, very sad to see Brad Bird not delivering on this one and not liking it however I may be the small minority on this and hey if you like it don't let me stop you from enjoying it; and hey hopefully if Bird decides to do a third film he'll be able to put some of the unused ideas he mentioned about into a third film and see where it goes. But as it stands now, i'm disappointed I didn't find much incredible to see for the sequel.
