Review of Incendies (2010) by Scubasteve Walter M — 20 Feb 2014
And I thought this movie was going to be subtle, I guess not. It's down right fcked up. Sorry for the language but I couldn't find another word to describe this film. Sneaky enough it tries to capture your emotion as a tragic war drama, providing some suspense and mystery for the secret life of Nawal Marwan.
It hides in this premise but in the end it just gets sicker and sicker. And I thought old boy was the sickest film of all. True enough it's a marvelous story but then again you have to wonder, how did it come up with that silly ending.
If it was a bio-epic, I'd be amazed by the turn of events. But given that it's fiction, man it takes a wild chance to make this story realistic. Award winning maybe but I still find that ending illogical.
