Review of In Your Eyes (2014) by Charlie-Jane P — 15 Dec 2014
Thanks to Zoe Kazan and a solid screenplay from Joss Whedon, In Your Eyes is elevated above the limitations of its director. The look and feel of this film is something out of a TV movie, especially due to some very weak acting and direction choices.
However, the chemistry between Kazan and Michael Stahl-David won me over, and the infectious dialogue from Whedon is so wonderful that I couldn't help but find myself drawn into the story. The final act is a little ridiculous and mellow dramatic, but it's a pretty solid romance story in the guise of a pretty unique sci fi plot.
