Review of In Your Eyes (2014) by Marina A — 12 Jan 2015
Brin Hill's off kilter romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist is a great concept and for most of its running time, namely the second act where Rebecca (Zoe Kazan) and Dylan (Michael Stahl-David) get to know each other, is fantastic. The problem is the set up which is clunky and which I almost turned off 10 minutes in, and the ending which feels like an unearned fairy tale. Quite literally, they set off into the sunset together leaving all their troubles behind.
That said, it is enjoyable and Kazan and Stahl-David manoeuvre through Joss Whedon's Whedonisms with no trouble.
