In the valley of Elah you could feel the anger and the pain of what this war in Iraq has done to American families and the soldiers. ELAH was a powerful film from the Director Paul Haggis, that put on screen a magnificent performance by Tommy Lee Jones, the fear a father may have in the loss of his son, how this war was being played out in the small towns of America where families wonder if their son,daughter, might return home safe, or in a body bag. Charlize Theron and Susan Sarandon with a solid cast brought home the horror of Iraq in a film that is today's war in the Middle East.
What was the connection between Goliath's death in that valley and the events of this film? Who was David? And do we have a Goliath to bring down? Theron tells Jones that the story is not true. It was even in the Koran" was his reply. I wonder if by the end he felt differently.
