Review of In the Realm of the Senses (1976) by Alex F — 31 Jan 2010

I think it's debatable whether this is just porn, an art movie or a bit of both. I took it as a portrayal of a sexual obsession. This portrayal couldn't be without all the sex scenes. I just wonder if all that explicity was really necessary.

I guess films are often a way of film makers to express or convey an idea. In this case the director made a film about sex, obsession and vouyerism and it's up to people to watch it or not. I wouldn't say it's a waste of time but it doesn't have the relevance I expected.
