This is extreme cinema at its finest. The line between art and pornography is called "In The Realm Of The Senses". The "Last Tango" comparisons are well grounded, but this film takes the concept one step further by not only having but showing real sex between the two actors.
Eiko Matsuda gives one of the bravest performances ever as the seductive and uncontrollable Sada. Not for the faint of heart, this is indeed brutal and beautiful cinema.
