Review of In the Name of the Father (1993) by Derek C — 13 Feb 2008
I'm talking about Pure Power! This movie has so much rock'n story its almost unbelievable. But you have to believe it! Why? Because it's TRUE! Not to mention Daniel Day-Lewis is in it! and he rocks the house.
Not in the traditional way in which he usually rocks the house, which is through overacted emotion and pure raw energy. You can't compare this character to Hawkeye, Bill, Christy, John Proctor, or There Will Be Blood Daniel (Actualy you can compare him quite a bit to John Proctor).
This is a completely new Daniel for me (as in I've never seen this movie until today). He doesnt really need to carry the entire film. He just says, "here is a sweet story and I want to be in it but in a way that is different from the films I have and plan on making in the future.
" Rockability! Whamcicles! (new word im trying out, Its the splicing of "Whammy" and "Icicles").
