Review of In the Name of the Father (1993) by Jc E — 15 May 2015
Shocking and unbelievable but true scandal about the police and government of England. This is the story of 4 young scapegoats and father of one of them (Gerry Conlon played by the impeccable Daniel Day Lewis) the height of the IRA bombings.
Despite knowing their innocence, evidence suppressed resulting them being incarcerated for 15 years. Poor Gerry,s father died in prison. Kudos to attorney Pierce (Emma Thompson) for her tenacity and resourcefulness in uncovering the suppressed evidence thus bringing the great travesty of justice to light.
The pain in Gerry´s facial expression when he was exonerated and when he exploded out of the courthouse to breath free once again after 15 years was nothing short of electric.
