Review of In the Name of the Father (1993) by Steven B — 25 Nov 2008
This was a well-acted film about the wrongful imprisonment of Irish nationals in London who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, among some crooked cops. Look here if you want to see another strong performance by Daniel Day-Lewis.
The direction and editing was a bit lacking at times when they glossed over the passage of time when the main character was in prison for 15 years, and at other times used quick montages over key events.
Other than that it was a great way to spend 2 hours, immersed in the English hippy life politics and imprisonment of the 1970s.
