Review of In the Name of the Father (1993) by Late R — 15 Aug 2017
Based on a true story and told in a gripping fashion, 'In the Name of The Father' is a frightening portrayal of how easily the justice system is perverted, innocent people's lives ruined at the drop of a hat.
The directing is skilfully and subtly done, never overpowering the narrative which is, as it should be, front and centre. The acting is excellent, with Postlethwaite delivering a perfect performance and Daniel Day-Lewis' portrayal being passionate, electrifying and completely believable.
In the end, you're left shaking your head and find yourself affected by the injustice of it all.
