Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Zachary S — 08 Jul 2008
I love Wong Kar Wai's movies, but I was hesitant to see this since it was so slow paced compared to his previous works.
I don't think this is a movie for everyone, but great for those who love the romantic imagery, music that just sets the mood, and subtlety It's amazing how much feeling can be conveyed without speaking a word. You can feel sadness and loneliness of each character and need to have another person to confide in. A lot of tension builds up as they struggle to not be like their spouses.
