Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Christine A — 26 Mar 2009
In the Mood for Love is an absolutely elegant and stunning piece of work by Wong Kar-Wai. It was so interesting to see how an emotional affair (as opposed to a standard romantic and/or sexual affair) was portrayed on film, especially since the lead players, Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung, never shared any form of intimate contact onscreen.
Most films that tell the story of affairs usually go the sexual route, but In the Mood for Love does not, which makes the film even more interesting to watch.
