Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Jeff B — 06 Oct 2010
Well, now that the decade is over and so many "Best of" lists are being made, In the Mood for Love seems to be in the Top 3 by many, so I figured I should check this one out again, because I saw it several years ago and must have missed something.
Watching it again, it really is quite a beautiful film, a very impressive work by Wong Kar Wai. Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung are perfect together, their quiet and held back relationship together is wonderful to watch.
The score really helps add to the beauty of the film, as well as the wonderful costumes and colors. It's a quiet and tragic film that really is a great piece of art.
