Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Elliott F — 10 Jan 2011
Mesmerizing. Beautiful. Lyrical. Ravishing. Polite. These words barely do justice describing the atmosphere created under the brilliant hand of Wong Kar-Wai. In the Mood for Love is quite possibly the quintessential love story of an unconsummated romance.
Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung are both absolutely perfect here, never going overboard where lesser actors could have. What this is is an absolutely captivating film, and one that I intend to revisit very soon.
