Review of In the Loop (2009) by Maria U — 21 Oct 2010
Those who enjoy British humor, and particularly âThe Officeâ?, will get a kick of this hilarious farce that shows us that politics, besides being a battlefield where everyone looks after their interests, is also a joke.
In a scenario that is probably closer to the truth than anyone would ever admit, a British minister is cornered when he candidly comments that âwar is unforeseeableâ?, taking the viewer to a dark satire of the process of political negotiation that can lead to a war.
Although the country in question is never mentioned, it is clear that this is a corrosive critique on the incompetence, improvisation and self serving motives that led to the Iraq war.
