Review of In the Line of Fire (1993) by Demetris H — 10 Jan 2010
Another classic from Mr Petersen, In the Line of Fire is an excellent drama surrounding an old secret service agent who used to be JFK's closest bodyguard. His life gets complicated when he comes across Malcovich's freaky assasin who announces that he's going to assasinate the president.
The first noteworthy element of this film are the perfomances - Eastwood is in his usual pose of a gritty, no nonsense, bull type of hero whereas Malcovich's crazy gunman is superbly portrayed with just the right amount of intensity and creepiness.
The script is well written and the action sequences are vintage 90's. Overall a memorable piece - definate classic.
