Review of In the Line of Fire (1993) by Kasey C — 18 Apr 2013
In the Line of Fire isn't a great movie but is an enjoyable enough as a suspense thriller. Clint Eastwood growls his way through the story as a secret service agent who wasn't able to do his job when JFK was assassinated and years later is assigned to protect the current president from a deranged assassin (played wonderfully by John Malkovich).
The story drags at times but never becomes boring. Rene Russo seems a bit miscast but otherwise the stellar cast keeps the movie interesting and the obvious ending, though predictable, is able to evoke a cheer or tear, whichever you seem more inclined to transmit.
