Review of In the Line of Fire (1993) by Brett H — 14 Oct 2013
Nothing you haven't seen before, but this above-average political thriller is elevated by Eastwood's honest performance and John Malkovich's terrific yin to his yang. The film flows nicely and there's lots of great dialogue, but a lot of it does get repetitive with the secret service agents tracing calls to the villain's whereabouts and obviously miss him every time.
Still a tense film that uses a lot of real-life political assassinations as it's lead character's back-story which I found quite effective. Malkovich is the real reason to watch this though and he steals every moment he's on screen!
