This film drags on for far too long before becoming interesting. The cast do a great job in their flat, one dimensional roles. "The Heights" themselves seem like a concept rather than a fully formed suburb.
The concept relies so heavily on stereotypes to feel authentic. The songs aren't as memorable or enjoyable as the trailer would have you believe.
