Five stars just for Poitier alone!! The plot isn't amazing and the other actors pale in comparison, but to watch Poitier glide through the scenes with the utmost cool is an awesome cinematic experience.
The "Mr. Tibbs" line and the slap are even better when seen in the context of the whole movie.
