A classic iconic movie of racism on both ends of the spectrum. Steiger as the southern small-town sheriff and Poitier as the well-dressed, smooth-talking detective make for pretty interesting banter as the movie unfolds.
Features the 'slap heard round the world'.... trust me, you'll know it when you see it. I'm still a little confused though as to why that guy committed the murder?? Just to pay for what he had to do?? Whatever.
