Review of In the Heart of the Sea (2015) by Lanfranco C — 11 Dec 2015
In the Heart of the Sea is undeniably fun, harrowing entertainment, even though it's disappointingly shallow by the end. We see two sides of the story: the one with Chris Hemsworth and the whales, and the one with the adult Herman Melville (Ben Whishaw) learning about Chris Hemsworth and the whales. The latter doesn't work. It's just too unnecessary.
Although it's not terrible, and Ron Howard's riveting sea adventure is brutal, intense, and has some really awesome special effects.
