In The Heart Of The Sea is a very disappointing movie. Let's start with the positives. The cast was all good in their roles. Chris Hemsworth was good, and so was everybody else. I liked the visuals.
They weren't amazing, but they were decent. The whale scenes were good. But the movie itself was very boring. It is mostly a character drama, which could've been good if we cared about the characters.
Out of all he people on the ship I would say I knew about five. I was mostly rooting for the whale. Ron Howard's direction wasn't all that amazing. It was only serviceable when it should've been great.
Overall, considering this is a Ron Howard film, it was a massive disappointment.
