Review of In the Heart of the Sea (2015) by Tatsuhito K — 09 Aug 2016
Ron Howard is a very good director and it clearly shows in every frame of "In the Heart of the Sea". It is visually interesting and the whale attack sequences are spectacular. There is not enough depth in its story or characters and the third act is quite boring, but overall this is not a bad movie.
A missed opportunity? Yes, it is. A flawed epic-wannabe? Probably. But is it a skillfully made film with some great moments. Hell yeah.
