Review of In the Bedroom (2001) by Alvin Y — 03 Feb 2011
This movie is a great movie. Way beyond my expectations, this is probably one of the best movie experiences that I've ever had. The theme is very calm and dramatic so it really takes time to get the feelings and emotions of these characters after this shocking incident that will change their lives forever.
All of the actors Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek, and Marissa Tomei, all of them really nailed this work of art, their performances are so great and also having to know them well is easier and clearly that you can tell what do they do for living.
At first it seems to be a romance or about a study about American family BUT eventually after the first half, it became a very sad and traumatic which I was also surprised about it, then I also thought that it would be another revenge story or couple grieving over a dead son, OOPS! THAT WAS A SPOILER, BUT I'm not gonna tell how their son died.
And also the ending is just horrifying again that it ended of course the title In The Bedroom. So, there you have it, âIn the Bedroomâ? is one of the best, seriously one of the best films of 2001, and addition to having a great direction, great story, great performances, and very unpredictable moments, unless you have no idea about this film.
