Review of In My Skin (2002) by Bethany M — 14 Jun 2007
Some people use drugs to cope with life; others use violence; and some people resort to self-mutilation. This film is about the latter. The amazing thing about "In My Skin" is that the main character's obsession is so believable that eventually you don't even regard her behaviour a being unusual (well.
..sorta). And during the times when it seems that her obsession is about to be discovered, you find yourself hoping that she doesn't get caught just because you've come to realize how much she relies on her obsession to cope.
So even though you may cringe once or twice, it's worth it just to expose yourself to something new. Status Quo is for losers.
