Review of In Her Skin (2009) by Ray P — 16 Mar 2011
Based on a true Australian crime story --- a young girl and dancing prodigy goes missing and her parents (Guy Pearce and Miranda Otto) fear the worst.
With the police not taking the matter seriously enough, the young girl ends up murdered at the hands of a demented friend of the family who was extremely jealous of her (a terrific performance by Ruth Bradley). Her father (Sam Neill) knows the truth and does what he can to keep suspicion from his sick daughter.
Fairly tame with nothing new to add to the genre --- this is a well-acted thriller that could have been much more suspenseful in the hands of another director.
