Review of In Cold Blood (1967) by Davey M — 13 Jun 2012
Pretty remarkably, this is as penetrating and powerful as Capote's novel, with the same degree of perfect, almost divine craft and precision. Watch for Conrad Hall's masterful black and white widescreen photography and Quincy Jones' exceptional (first) film score. The murder scene (without actually showing anything) is a fittingly cold and frightening climax to one of the most mesmerizing, edge-of-your-seat emotional movie journeys one could experience. Great movie.
P.S. Though it earns its R-rating, there is no explicit content in the film outside of a moderate degree of coarse language and some non-graphic (but deeply disturbing) violence.
