Review of In a Lonely Place (1950) by Allan C — 12 Aug 2009
I preferred Gloria Grahame's performance in this film better than in The Bad and the Beautiful. She won an Oscar for the other film, but I felt her performance was much better in this one.
A classic film noir, Humphrey Bogart definitely kicks it up a notch with a very complex character. The movie also plants many seeds of doubt from the beginning, leaving the audience in the dark until the very end. A different kind of romance with the best ending.
