Review of In a Better World (2010) by Edward K — 06 May 2011
Deals with complex but conflicting human themes, yes, but existential, I'm not sure: possibly the question of the existence evil and how it may be dealt with. Certainly the film provides themes that serve as fodder for further reflection on what it means to be human and becoming an adult.
The three stars are mostly for the ending which is tied up too neatly but I recommend watching if youâ(TM)re into drama. If youâ(TM)re not then go see a really existential film like Thor which poses such questions as: whatâ(TM)s the purpose? Duh, 6 pack abs and $$$!
