Review of In a Bedroom (2012) by Curt F — 22 Aug 2009
Dear Hollywood, please give up on trying to use Maine accents in movies. People were even drinking Moxie during a poker game in one scene. This movie took place in Camden, Maine and had some great scenery. This was very well done but painful to watch.
I am now prepared to say that Tom Wilkinson is one of my favorite actors. I really believe his acting, whether it is Ben Franklin in John Adams or here, a grieving father for a son who was a victim of domestic violence.
The one argument scene between Wilkinson and his wife Sissy Spacek was one of the more moving scenes I have ever seen in a movie.
And of course I have to give man props to Marisa Tomei who always makes a film more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this movie. I only started watching this because I saw that the movie took place in Maine in the description. It ended up being one of the better films I have seen in a while.
