Review of In a Bedroom (2012) by John A — 27 Dec 2012
The pace of this film is very sleepy and slow, but it is well worth watching. The quality of actors is excellent, including the performance of a lifetime for Sissy Spacek. The film comes across as cold, hard, and most importantly, real, which is a quality that much of modern cinema lacks.
The plot of the film builds around a single event, and thus there is very little time spent in culminating action. However, if you're in the right frame of mind to undergo a study of familial love and depression, there are few better films than this one.
