Review of Imperium (2016) by Tvjerry — 19 Aug 2016
Daniel Radcliffe starts as a nerdy FBI analyst, but shaves his head to go undercover in a white supremacist group. They're planning a major terrorist event and he's charged to discover the details. The concept is compelling and Radcliff's performance is strong.
While there is dramatic momentum, the film could have used more menace. It never creates a forceful feeling of dread for his character or the circumstances. The obvious message of several cultural montages seems unnecessarily long and heavy-handed.
Still, the film manages to be an involving, if somewhat tame, experience.
