Review of Imperial Dreams (2014) by Alex K — 13 Feb 2017
What a wonderful story that is portrayed by Malik Vitthal and the actor, John Boyega. In this dramatic story about a African American man who is subjugated to the twisted system that marginates those born in poverty, let alone in an African American neighbourhood such as Watts.
Also growing up in the streets of LA, although I was of Korean descent, I have watched my closed friends and peers sucked into the attractive gangster life who ends up being trapped to the lifestyle. However, this film is an inspiration to all those who have experienced it as an adolescent that it is not too late, and also a reminder that we too can rise over our demons and strive to become the person we are fit to be, in Bambi's case, a father.
