Review of Imperial Dreams (2014) by Jacob D — 08 Mar 2017
An extremely well made, thought "light" tale of an ex-con in the bad part of LA wanting to make a better difference for the benefit of his son.
Imperial Dreams will give viewers the harsh reality a man has to face formerly being in person, only as a result of his violent upbringing, growing up in a family of gangsters and con men. These men and women are real. While many deserve the ill treatment bestowed upon them for their crimes, many others, as a result of improper upbringing, are blamed and slammed, with small hope of retaining an attempt at normal life, whether it's laws and probation, or family forcing you back in the dangerous business.
The ending feels extremely lacking, aside from that problem, very well made realistic drama with a great lead performance by Star Wars's, John Boyega!
