A composer has a public temper tantrum and then everybody is angry at him but really he is just misunderstood and likes to lie in the lake and gaze at the stars.

This movie is really another version of Amadeus. I'm sure the writer director saw Amadeus and thought, "You know what would be fun? If I made up a fictional story about Beethoven based on a well known mystery in his life?" That being said, I loved Amadeus and was glad that someone found a way to make another movie in this sub-genre of classical-composer-mystery-bio-pic. You also get to hear the greatest hits of Beethoven. Sid Vicious plays Beethoven. I must admit that although I have appreciated Beethoven's music since I was a child I knew very little about him other than he was influenced by Mozart and was deaf.
