Review of Immortal Beloved (1994) by Stephanie M — 19 Jul 2009
A fictionalised account of the identity of a woman referred to as 'Immortal Beloved' in Beethoven's letters, this film makes wonderful use of his music. Gary Oldman is brilliant as the composer, and that he is a musician meant that he was very convincing when playing the piano (although I know we didn't hear him).
