The greatest weepie ever made! Sirk is the king of melodrama, but this is his best - Lana overacts for all she's worth ( in a role which requires it!), and Juanita Moore breaks your heart (with some serious help from Mahalia Jackson!).
Watching this movie has made me cry to the point of nose-bleeds and vomiting.... what more can I say?!
