Review of Imitation of Life (1959) by Sandra R — 24 Oct 2007
Pure melodramatic classic...You just know that the housekeeper's daughter who passes for white is going to break her poor mother's heart... Frankly, that is the best subplot and better than the jealous angst of the Lana Turner/Sandra Dee storyline.
However, Sandra does get my favorite line -- "Oh mother, quit acting!".
