By knowing the true reasoning behind this film and realizing what it was before viewing...i feel that maybe it took a little bit away from me. This movie was very bizarre because it has you believing a few different things. First off Joaquin Phoenix is leaving acting to become a rapper right off the bat this is just ape shit.

The movie follows his "life" as he basically has a mental breakdown and tries out a new career which is just horrible. There are a lot f cameos by fellow actors and musicians in the movie that add a level of realism and creativity to the vision that Phoenix and Casey Affleck the director were looking into. There are a ton of things going on at times though that it seems the movie gets a bit crowded with things its a bit hard to focus on any one thing.

Joaquin Phoenix does a great job here. He is just the definition of a "what the fuck is this guy thinking?" kind of person. He did this as a project and it shows...shit gets literally nuts.

Theres really no plot other than following around Phoenix for a few months. Other than that its an interesting look into the life of a celebrity trying to change it up a bit. This is not going to be for everyone, but if your even remotely interested give it a look.
