I think I would have hated it if I had thought it was real, but *knowing* it isn't--I think it mostly works as a satire of celebrity, the media, & "reality" entertainment. Also knowing it's not real, Joaquin Phoenix is flippin' fantastic.
He pulls off the ultimate Andy Kaufman-like performance in the real world.
