Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Jack R — 30 Dec 2010
Some say that it was obviously not a joke, and some say that it was a complete sham... If it is not a joke, Joaquin Phoenix is a very passionate guy that dedicates himself to his craft... If it is a shame, it was believable and he got the world to watch him plummet out of control...
Either way, it has to be said that Joaquin Phoenix was and will always be a fantastic actor... It was said by both Joaquin Phoenix and Casey Affleck that it was a shame (an obvious free flow mockumentary is what was explained), if that is true I am hoping that Joaquin Phoenix will return to films with the same passion that he put into this movie and the talent that were in his previous films...
I would like to think that this movie was more than what is presented by the media and is said by critics... I see it as method acting at its best and worst. Whether people see it for what it was or understood it beyond what was shown, it was a very emotional movie, maybe it is vile, maybe it is an tongue and cheek joke at everyone's expense, or it is just like any other film (its a form of art)...
(Side note: Wow, 'Joaquin' spun out of control for this movie, both his physical and emotional being was completely off track... He was in a nose dive the complete movie)... He had everyone fooled.
