Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Joe I — 14 Feb 2011
In spite of one or two outrageous, not to say positively scatological set pieces, little elevates this movie above the level of Jackass. How self-absorbed must Hollywood be not to ascertain the lack of genuineness behind Phoenix's "sick stunt".
The character, a fine actor who excelled in Walk the Line and Buffalo Soldiers, is deliberately annoying and gets his wish as the movie almost defines the word "tiresome". I came at this blind, having not followed the press reports of the time.
Who next will reveal to us that their bizarre antics are all a joke? Gazza?
