Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Maximilian M — 22 Mar 2009
What is "I´m not there"? Life? The moment? You are someone , then your are another one, totally different. The essence may be the same (like the train sequence), but you are there, and one second after, you are not there.
I would put half a star more, but there are moments that slows the plot, like the wife story, I didn´t like her acting, from almost sublime sequences the not so interesting stories. There are a lo of cinema references, the interview sequence remained me Fellini´s 81/2, but the west story, visually was magical.
Like a Rob Zombie video, the true american spirit Knocking on heavens door, Like a rolling stone. a genius, "not a folk artist".
