Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Yohan A — 11 May 2009
I'll admit, it took me a while to enjoy the music of Bob Dylan. Regardless of how I feel about his music, he is undoubted as one of the greatest songwriters of all time. This movie is full of his music and his life.
I did not know a lot about him going into watching this film but it sparked my interest in his life and the music that has come to influence generations. Ever character and actor are amazing, even the strange outings of Richard Gere.
Christian Bale shines and Cate Blanchett is haunting as Dylan- bravo. Heath Ledger did well as the tortured lover and father, but I really enjoyed Ben Whishaw, as Arthur who is more or less the storyteller and allows the film to move.
An excellent movie-.
