Review of I'm Not Ashamed (2016) by Sierra S — 22 Oct 2016
It is an inspiring movie, surprisingly well made. The actors were all very well casted, although I will say that the scenes with the cousins were slightly awkward and rushed. The film dealt with a variety of issues from smoking, drinking, peer pressure, bullying, abuse, divorce, homelessness, suicidal thoughts, anger, aggression, and of course the school shooting.
I loved that they pulled straight from Rachel's actual journals to show her life accurately and really show the world that she was a real human with struggles not simply a perfect little Christian.
Although it is filmed as a Christian film and it also depicts a tragic day in our countries history, I enjoyed the film moreso as the life story of this one victim. I truely recommend this film as an inspirational film for students and adults alike, who wish to be challenged to live a more compassionate loving life.
Whether you are a Christian or not, everyone can be challenged to live and love people.
