When a guy can go from making movies like Oldboy to this, that's when you know he's a genius. Not everything works here, and it's a little long, but that's OK. Most surprising to me was the performance of this Rain fellow - apparently he's a massive pop star all over Asia, but he's totally convincing, unlike the nastiness we rightly associate with teen idols who want to become actors over here.
Park is one of the most exciting directors out there today, and I can't wait to see where he goes next.
